Christmas Aprons

So I didn't do as much sewing this holiday as I would have liked, but I did get a few aprons made. I found a cute tutorial at One more Moore which I made using some holiday fabric. I took it to my daughters on Thanksgiving and she quickly called dibs on it. I got to model it for her.

My daughter in law liked it too so I made her one for Christmas. I always ask for a picture of the person wearing, so here it is. Here is proof she is using it IN the kitchen, ha ha she'll love this!

I had also been wanting to make one for Bob's sister and asked if her granddaughter would like one. She was thrilled that I would do that, then she asked if I would make a matching one for her mommy. Well then I had to make one for her other daughter as well, everyone should have an apron, right? I just got their family apron photo as well. It was taken with a cell phone camera so it isn't as clear, but still looks good. They all loved their aprons...that makes me happy!

Meatball Stroganoff

I saw this recipe while catching up on my Google reader recently on Centsational Girls blog and knew I was going to make it while I was off work and had the time. So I made it today along with the Potato & Ham Soup and now we have dinner for several days ahead, that's the best part no more cooking this week! It was yummy. I already have some in a container to take for my lunch tomorrow.

Leftover's

We got a spiral ham for Christmas dinner. Not the one from that overpriced chain but I did go online and find a great copy of the basting sauce used. It turned out really good. The basting sauce consisted of 1/2 Cup each of Pear Juice, Orange Juice, Brown Sugar and Honey. So what do you do with a lot of leftover ham? Well I froze some and with the rest I make this delicious Potato and Ham Soup. It turned out really good. We didn't eat it tonight, instead we had another great recipe that I also made today. We're having this tomorrow for dinner, I'm sure it will taste even better after a night in the frig. I will post the other recipe I made right after this post....so stay tuned.

Chocolate Souffle Cake

I read this great book recently by Elizabeth Bard called Lunch in Paris. In the book she gives the recipes of some of the things she or her husband make.

They all look and sound great. I decided on this one......

It turned out perfect, and was delicious!

Cranberry Plum Butter

I just made this wonderful Cranberry Plum Butter using a recipe I saw on William Sonoma's blog.  Just had to try some on a biscuit. It tastes delish and it takes just a little over an hour. What a great accompaniment to Thanksgiving dinner. And ooooh won't it be yummy on a turkey sandwich with some cream cheese.

Tomato soup

I got this great recipe for homemade tomato soup from The kitchen. Today is a great day to make it, the day after it rained and still pretty chilly out. We'll be having it with grilled cheese sandwiches tonight. Doesn't it look yummy!
