Christmas Slippers

I decided this year I would make something for all my employees that they will enjoy for years to come. I found this cute pattern on Ravelry. I started my first pair while we were on a weekend trip to Hearst Castle and I had lots of time to keep busy with my hands. I have made a lot of progress on my projects this way! The pattern can be found on Miranda Websters blog called The Life Artistic . I had such fun making these and after some time was able to make a pair every evening. I think they'll be a hit!

Pillow surgery

So I made this pillow over a year ago, but the crocheting started coming undone from the pillow. As I sat examining it last weekend I decided it was time to fix it. So I did a little surgery and then added a few gems just to bling it up a bit. Turned out okay, what do you think?

Christmas projects

Well now that my gifts have been received I can post them for all to see. I posted the afghan I made for my daughter, and now I can show you the one I made for my son since he got it in the mail today...yippy.I actually finished his first but had to wait until last week to box it up and send it. And...they area already enjoying it! Love all the colors.

My projects

So I finished the Teal afghan that was for my daughter so I could take it with me to visit her over Thanksgiving. It turned out really nice, but I never got a picture of her with it. So here's one I took along with the other work in progress. I turned out nice.

Works in progress

So this is where I'm at so far with the yarn I bought. I've been a little frustrated with my project, tore it out a couple of times and then decided to change patterns all together. This one is easier but going slower. I like it so I'm just going to keep on moving with it. We'll see how long it takes to complete. I'll keep you posted!

Yarn.....

It's that time of year, the weather is VERY slowly changing but it's enough that I'm getting the itch to crochet. I've got a project in the works and I'm not going to say too much because it's suppose to be a gift. But I just had to share it. I really like the colors and how it's coming along. I should be finished with the border this weekend. What do you think? Funny, I notice how the pillow to the right matches the afghan, totally not planned!

I also bought this yarn for my next project.. I just really liked this color.

Bike Stuff

So we put a new seat on my bike, it's Ostrich. I think it looks pretty cool against the black bike what do you think? And since we're talking about my bike I've put over 2500 miles on it since June. We've done some fun rides over the summer, including a Las Vegas turn around, Palm Springs and many weekend rides. I'm still having a blast!

Happy Labor Day

It's not often we get a three day weekend, so when we do we try to get as much in as possible. We babysat and dog sat this weekend. So today was about us doing something fun. So we met up with some friends and took a short bike ride to Wrightwood and then to Silverwood Lake.
Tomorrow back to reality it is!

So I realize now that it's been quite some time since I've posted anything on my page. Guess it's been a busy fun summer. We've been doing a lot of riding, almost every weekend. And if we're not riding we've been on road trips and had some visitors. So here are a few pictures of our summer activities.
We went to the Gilroy Garlic Festival

Went on a 700 mile ride to Three Rivers/Sierra's
My son and daughter in law visited from Texas.
We went to Newport/Balboa via the ferry
We went to Disneyland.....
It was her first time there, can you tell she had
an awesome time!?

We had some margarita's
Went on a ride to Solvang, my first long trip...what a blast

And we both have new bikes now...Victorys
Love my new bike!!

Barefoot Sandals

So my daughter in law showed me a picture of some barefoot sandals that she loved. I thought I can make those. So I did some looking around and found some patterns and this is what I have come up with so far. It is early stages but it's a start, right?

Motorcycles....

So I started my motorcycle training class this week. Today was the first day on the bikes. Had a blast! Can't wait for tomorrow, I'll report back if I pass. We also added a third bike to the family today. While I was in class Bob flew (last night) to Northern California and picked up a bike for us to enjoy those long rides together. I don't know how he did it but he made the 500 mile trek back home by 4:30PM today. Crazy...anyhow, here's the new addition. Can't wait to take it out.

Three Rivers ride

We've been spending a lot of time lately on our bike. By that I mean a motorcycle, Harley Davidson to be exact. We found a local group at gets together almost every weekend and goes somewhere, even if it's just a day ride. Recently we took an overnight trip to Three Rivers, Ca. That's located about 300 miles north of where we live. The forecast called for a chance of drizzles. Well we got that and much more. Here's us getting ready to leave from Ontario, it had already started to rain...not a good sign.
We encountered wind riding through the Palmdale area. That was probably the worst because it just blows you all over the place. Once we got up near Lake Isabella on the 155 it got colder and wetter, and that combination makes snow flurries. We went very slow and made it through the winding roads, it was actually very pretty.
There is lots of beautiful country to be seen and what a better way then on a bike where you can use all your senses. I love it. Here are a few more pictures along the way.

This is how you dress when it's cold out....
We stayed at The Lazy J Ranch in Three Rivers...what a great little place. We had a bonfire in the rain that night, too fun.

Baby update...

I just thought I haven't shown a recent picture of my newest grandbaby in a while. This is a picture from Thanksgiving, isn't he adorable...especially with his grandma holding him. He is such a happy little guy.

Here is his 6 month picture, too cute!

Hello Wine....

So I'm on this diet....been doing this for a while now and I must say it is all worth the sacrifices. And while I'm on it I must refrain from lots of things, like sugar, carbs and WINE! I was just looking through some pictures I took over the last few months and I ran across this one. So I will just admire from afar.......hello wine..........you understand, right?

Speaking of my diet, here is a collage I put together last summer of a few before/after pictures. Just thought I'd share a little bit of my progress, can you see any difference?

Just stuff

I've been messing with some crocheting lately too, just passing the time. Here are some of the things I have made. Some hats

And I made these headbands. I thought they would look cute if I added some bling, so I'm working on that. The gray one is a bit hard to see. I should have taken a better picture, sorry.

And I made this cute ruffle scarf. I made one just like it for my daughter for Christmas and also a pink one, which I forgot to take a picture of both. I'm not doing so good remembering the camera lately!

Back at the sewing machine

Well the holiday season is over and I'm back doing some of my favorite things. I was asked to make a set of aprons for a mommy and daughter. I found some cute fabric recently at a Tuesday Morning (never thought they'd have fabric) and immediately thought aprons! So here they are, I really love how they turned out.

The best thing was that I had enough fabric left over that I made myself one too! The top ruffle is fabric I have had for a long time and have always wanted to use it in an apron. It turned out exactly how I wanted, isn't it cute?

Christmas Aprons

So I didn't do as much sewing this holiday as I would have liked, but I did get a few aprons made. I found a cute tutorial at One more Moore which I made using some holiday fabric. I took it to my daughters on Thanksgiving and she quickly called dibs on it. I got to model it for her.

My daughter in law liked it too so I made her one for Christmas. I always ask for a picture of the person wearing, so here it is. Here is proof she is using it IN the kitchen, ha ha she'll love this!

I had also been wanting to make one for Bob's sister and asked if her granddaughter would like one. She was thrilled that I would do that, then she asked if I would make a matching one for her mommy. Well then I had to make one for her other daughter as well, everyone should have an apron, right? I just got their family apron photo as well. It was taken with a cell phone camera so it isn't as clear, but still looks good. They all loved their aprons...that makes me happy!
